Your breathing is happening all day. It might be worth knowing how well it's working for you.

You finally sit down, but your mind is still going.Ā

That anxious feeling in your belly still there.Ā Your shoulders are tense. Your jaw is tight. You catch yourself sighing or taking a big breath as though you can never quite get enough air.

Maybe you have time to relax, but your body doesn't seem to have got the message.

Or perhaps you've noticed your breathing in other ways.

You wake with a dry mouth. You can hear yourself breathing when you're sitting quietly. You get more breathless than you'd like walking uphill or exercising. Breathing through your nose when you run feels almost impossible.

Most of us don't think about the way we breathe until something makes us notice it.

But how you breathe throughout the day and night matters.

If your breathing has become fast, shallow, inefficient or more reliant on your upper chest and mouth, it may be contributing to some of the tension, breathlessness or difficulty settling that you're experiencing.

And sometimes your breath is only one part of what's going on.

Sleep, stress, the way your nervous system is responding, how much tension you're carrying and the patterns your body has become used to can all be worth exploring too.

That's where my 1:1 coaching begins.

We start with you.

We'll look at how you're breathing now, what's happening in your body and your everyday life, and what you'd most like to change.

Then we'll work out what will best support you from there.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Perhaps you're...

  • Waking up feeling foggy or tired, even when you've had enough time in bed
  • Struggling to fall asleep, waking during the night or finding your mind switches on the moment you wake
  • Finding it difficult to switch off when you finally have time to relax
  • Getting caught in anxious or looping thoughts
  • Carrying tension in your jaw, neck or shoulders
  • Frequently sighing, yawning or holding your breath without realising
  • Waking with a dry mouth or noticing you breathe through your mouth
  • Snoring or noticing your breathing is audible when you're resting
  • Feeling as though you can't quite take a satisfying breath
  • Getting more breathless during exercise than you'd like
  • Struggling to breathe comfortably through your nose when you run or train

There can be many reasons for these experiences.

Your breathing may be part of the picture. Your sleep, stress levels, nervous system and the patterns your body has become used to can be part of it too.

1:1 coaching gives us the space to look at what's happening for you, rather than assuming the same answer will work for everyone.

Why work with me 1:1?

Ā

Two people can come to me with the same problem and need quite different support.

You arrive with your own breathing patterns, body, lifestyle, health and reasons for wanting something to change.

You might be tired of feeling permanently switched on. You want to feel calmer, sleep better or find it easier to relax without your mind and body carrying on at full speed.

Perhaps anxiety has become more present and you want practical ways to help your body settle when you can feel it building.

Or your goal might be more physical. You want to feel less breathless, breathe more comfortably through your nose when you run, improve your breathing during exercise or prepare for altitude.

And sometimes you simply know that something about the way you're breathing doesn't feel right and you want to understand it.

That's why I don't start with a predetermined programme. I start with you.

We'll look at your breathing, but we'll also look at the wider picture of what's happening for you.

From there, I can draw on breathwork, nervous system support, sleep practices, relaxation, NSDR, mindfulness and movement to give you the support and practices that make sense for where you are now and what you want to change.

Ā

What happens during 1:1 coaching?

1. We start with you

We'll talk about what's happening for you now, what you'd like to change and get clear on your goals.

I'll also take some simple baseline measurements where relevant, giving us a useful starting point and a way to track changes as we work together.

Ā

2. We look at how you're breathing

Your breath gives us a valuable place to start.

We'll look at your breathing mechanics and the patterns that may have developed without you even realising.

Where is your breath moving?

Are your neck, shoulders and upper chest doing more work than they need to?

Are you predominantly breathing through your nose or mouth?

What happens to your breathing when you're resting?

Understanding what's happening with your breath gives us useful information about what your body may need next.

Ā

3. We work towards your goals

What we do from there depends on you.

Our work might include:

  • Helping you feel calmer when anxiety, overthinking or a sense of being constantly "on" is getting in the way

  • Supporting nervous system regulation and making it easier for your body to settle

  • Improving sleep, particularly if you struggle to switch off at night, wake frequently or don't feel rested in the morning

  • Developing calmer, more efficient everyday breathing patterns

  • Reducing unnecessary tension in your jaw, neck, shoulders and upper chest

  • Working with feelings of breathlessness and learning how to respond when your breathing starts to feel uncomfortable

  • Improving the way you breathe during running and exercise

  • Preparing your breathing for altitude and higher-altitude challenges

Breathing may be at the heart of our work, but it isn't the only tool I use.

Depending on what you need, I may also bring in NSDR and relaxation practices, sleep support, gentle stretches, mindfulness and simple ways to build greater awareness of what's happening in your body.

The work is shaped around you, rather than asking you to fit into a set programme.

Ā

4. You leave with practices chosen for you

You won't leave with ten different exercises and another list of things you're supposed to do.

I'll give you a small number of personalised practices based on what we've found and what we're working towards.

That may include a specific breath prescription, alongside relaxation or NSDR practices, stretches, sleep support or simple awareness practices.

If we continue working together, we'll reassess as we go.

We can repeat relevant measurements, notice what's changing in everyday life and adapt your practices as your needs develop.

The aim is for what we do together to become something that genuinely supports you in your life, rather than another thing you have to remember to do perfectly.

Is 1:1 coaching right for me?

You don't need to have a serious breathing problem to benefit from 1:1 coaching.

You might simply have reached the point where you've tried breathing exercises, meditation, relaxation practices or sleep advice and you're no longer sure what you actually need.

Perhaps you can calm yourself in a guided class, but find it much harder when you're lying awake at 3am or anxiety catches you in the middle of an ordinary day.

Maybe you've become aware of the way you breathe and want to understand whether it could be contributing to how you feel.

Or you have a specific goal around exercise, breathlessness, nasal breathing or altitude and want support that's tailored to your body and what you're working towards.

1:1 coaching gives us the time to get curious about what's happening for you.

We can look at your breathing, nervous system, sleep, tension and the patterns you're noticing in everyday life, then decide together what deserves our attention.

You don't need to know what's causing the problem before you come.

That's something we can begin to explore together.

Single 1:1 Coaching Session - £80

60 minutes | Hove or online

A good place to start if you'd like to understand what's happening for you and get some personalised support.

We'll explore what you're experiencing now, what you'd like to change and any patterns that may be contributing.

Breathing will often be part of what we look at, including some simple baseline measurements where relevant, but our work isn't limited to your breath.

Depending on what you need, I may also introduce relaxation or NSDR practices, sleep support, gentle stretches, mindfulness or simple ways to build greater awareness of what's happening in your body.

You'll leave with a small number of personalised practices to work with at home, chosen specifically for you and your goals.

Ā

5-Session Coaching Package - £350

Initial 60Ā minute session + four approximately 45-minute follow-up sessions

For when you want more than a starting point and would like time to work towards meaningful change.

Across five sessions, we can see how your body responds to what we're doing, track relevant measurements and adjust your practices as we learn more about what supports you.

We might work with your breathing, sleep, nervous system regulation, anxiety, relaxation or tension. Or we might focus on a specific physical goal such as breathlessness, running, exercise or altitude.

Your practices can evolve between sessions rather than you having to work everything out on your own.

£350 - saving £50 compared with booking five sessions individually.

Ā

10-Session Coaching Package - £600

Initial 60 minute session + nine approximately 45-minute follow-up sessions

For when you want more time and ongoing support to work with patterns that have been around for longer, or there are several things you'd like support with.

Ten sessions give us the space to work progressively and respond to what we're noticing along the way.

We might begin with your breathing and discover that sleep needs more attention. Anxiety or feeling constantly "on" may become part of our work. We might bring in NSDR, relaxation, mindfulness, movement or practices to help you become more aware of what's happening in your body before it reaches the point of overwhelm.

Or we may use the time to work progressively towards a longer-term breathing, exercise or altitude goal.

There isn't a fixed programme you have to follow.

We keep coming back to what's happening for you and what will best support you next.

£600 - saving £200 compared with booking ten sessions individually.

1:1 coaching works really well online. I can observe your breathing, guide you through relevant assessments and practices, monitor your progress and adapt our work just as I would when working with you in person.

ā¤ļø What Clients Are Saying:

Ā

Hi, I'm Polly. IĀ helpĀ busy, ambitiousĀ people stress less and shine more—starting with the most overlooked tool we have: our breath.Ā

As a certified Oxygen AdvantageĀ® Functional Breathing Coach and a Breath Science Practitioner, I'veĀ seen justĀ how transformative breathing can be.

When I retrained my own breath, everything changed: My nervous system regulated, my mind calmed, my sleep improved, my performance soared and I finally found that sense of grounded joy I'd been chasing for years.

Now, I want the same for you.

Your breath comes with you.

It's there when you're lying in bed and your mind won't stop.

When somebody says something that gets under your skin and you feel your whole body tense.

When you finally sit down after a busy day and realise you still haven't really stopped.

And halfway up the hill when your breathing suddenly seems to be working much harder than the rest of you.

You don't need to become brilliant at breathwork.

You can begin by understanding the breath you're already taking thousands of times a day.

And see what changes when it starts working better for you.
