What is a reset?

This 5 day reset will be very similar to a detox or cleanse but I prefer the term reset as that's what it is - re setting your eating habits.

Have you ever noticed how once you start eating badly it's really easy to let yourself keep eating badly?  It's like when you have something not so great at breakfast, then at lunch you think 'Well, I've already ruined the day so I might as well keep going'.

Why is that?  Why does it seem like such a good solution at the time, even though you tell yourself you want to focus on taking better care of your health?

How can a reset/detox help you drop some unwanted weight?

Did you know that scientists have determined that most people are carrying 700 contaminants in their bodies?  These chemicals have been linked to all kinds of damage including cancer, high blood pressure, memory problems, immune dysfunction, attention deficit disorder and more.

Yes, our bodies do work to detox on a daily basis and they do this through four primary organs: the lungs, the kidneys, the skin and the liver.  The challenge comes when our bodies get exposed to more toxins than they can process out, which is happening to us all every day.  The truth of the matter is that toxic chemicals in our food, our air, our water and in materials all around us can quickly overload our systems.

When our bodies get overexposed to toxins, our liver does the best job it can to protect us, and it does this by wrapping those toxins in mucous and storing them in fat cells - EEWW!!  The problem with this is when we have a toxin stored in our fat, we can't burn that fat until we release and process the toxin!  

The reality is that no matter how much you exercise, eat right and manage your stress you won't be able to lose that stubborn fat until you partake in a detox and get rid of those toxins for good.

What can I expect?

 

Everyone will have their own unique experience.

 

In general, you can expect to learn about your eating habits, a way of eating that balances blood sugar, you’ll likely feel better, look better, sleep better, and many people lose weight.

 

The reality is that a 5 day reset isn’t likely to fix everything, but as part of a whole process, it’s extremely valuable. If you find that you FEEL BETTER after just 5 days, imagine what would be possible after 10 days? A month? A year? My clients FEEL BETTER for the long term after working with me – and we focus on what you CAN eat much more than on what you SHOULDN'T eat.

 

I’m super busy. Can I realistically do this?

 

Yes. But you’ll have to carve out some time to prepare. Just like I’m not going to promise that this isn’t a miracle solution for all your health problems, I’m also not going to promise that there’s no work involved. However, I’ve made it as SIMPLE as possible.  I’ve created a meal plan and a very clear daily protocol so you’ll know what to do and what to eat and when.

 

I’ve also broken it down so that you can reset/detox at the level that is right for you. If cutting out certain foods like sugar and alcohol is a serious stretch for you, then start there. If you want to go deeper, you can do the optional supplement regimen to boost your body’s detox.

What foods would I cut out during the Reset?

The recipes provided don't have any of the following ingredients in them:  sugar, dairy, eggs, corn, peanuts, wheat, soy, caffeine, alcohol.  These ingredients are not recommended for this reset as people commonly have intolerances towards them.   Some are also inflammatory and can be hard to digest. 

What if I just can't and dont' want to give up coffee? 

 

It’s ideal if you can cut out the caffeine, because most of us don’t realise how dependent we are on it and it can be a true addiction. That said, if drinking a cup or two a day is going to be the difference between you doing the reset and not doing it, then I would say do it every time. This is also a good opportunity to perhaps cut down on your caffeine intake which I can definitely support you with.
